The Upod Family Story
Amid rising living costs, Joefrey Upod, his family's sole breadwinner, sought new ways to supplement their income. Drawing on his wife Rochelle’s sewing skills, Joefrey contacted Burlington to purchase scrap materials, which they transformed into reusable rags.
Joining them in this venture are Joefrey, who helps Rochelle after work, and his parents, who lend their support in creating these products. This small family business has become a vital source of income, helping to ease their financial burdens and providing essential support for their daily expenses.
The Upod family resides in a modest home in Cavite and is one of many families partnering with Burlington to sustain their livelihoods. Joefrey and Rochelle have two sons, Kurt and Kian. Joefrey works in Manila and doubles as Lalamove delivery driver. Together, they exemplify the power of community and collaboration in fostering economic resilience through sustainable practices.
